Metl-Span Delivers Timely, Durable Façade Solution for Buffalo Food Distribution Center

To drive faster and more efficient output to the area, Rosina Food Products broke ground on a new 105,000-square-foot distribution center in Buffalo, New York, which added 40 new jobs to the region.  The facility features high-speed production line areas, a meat storage freezer, shipping and receiving docks, a refrigeration machine room, a boiler room, two maintenance shops, staff offices, and employee welfare spaces.

Western New York Winter Calls for Quick Installation

The cold and snowy Buffalo winter presented a challenge when it came to the overall project timeline. Construction crews needed façade material that would quickly enclose the building.

“Trying to complete this project while battling the pandemic and winter weather caused us some challenges,” said Dobbie John, project manager, Stellar.” We knew we wanted to go with insulated metal panels, but Metl-Span was able to deliver the most cost-effective solution without delaying our schedule.”

Inside and Out

The project team installed 200,000 square feet of Metl-Span insulated metal panels.

Metl-Span CF Mesa 42” panels in Winter White and Igloo White covered the exterior walls of the facility. CF Mesa was used in Brown Stone finish to complete the exterior walls surrounding the staff offices and welfare spaces. CF Mesa increases thermal insulation value with a flattened appearance, making it the ideal choice for cooler and freezer applications. Mesa panels can be used in a variety of widths and thicknesses, making them an ideal choice for all cladding solutions. The interior was finished with CF Partition panels in Igloo White, including the meat storage freezers and oven room.

Partition insulated metal panels are ideal for interior wall and ceiling applications, specifically for food processing facilities where temperature-controlled environments are essential. The corrugation in the profile provides added strength on both faces and offers symmetry between rooms.

Ready to Roll

Construction was completed in November of 2021, and Rosina Foods began production in December 2021.
